Food industry

Your PNCH, digital and traceable from start to finish.

HIGEA is software for managing the food industry’s Standardised Hygiene Control Programme (PNCH). It replaces scattered records with guided controls, incidents, corrective actions, approvals and evidence centralised in real time.

Discover how HIGEA works

The problem

A paper-based PNCH makes control and auditing harder

Pre-operational and operational procedures create records every day. When information is spread across forms, spreadsheets and photographs, it becomes difficult to confirm that every control was completed, resolve incidents and prepare reliable evidence.

Paper records that can be lost, damaged or left incomplete.

Information fragmented across sites, work areas, equipment and owners.

Incidents and corrective actions disconnected from the control that originated them.

Difficulty proving who recorded, reviewed and approved each action.

Our answer

The full PNCH cycle in one tool

HIGEA connects plant-floor work with Quality oversight. Every control is linked to its evidence, incidents, corrective actions and approvals, making the programme’s status easy to review and substantiate.

Controls adapted to your PNCH

Configure pre-operational, operational, cleaning and disinfection procedures around the way each plant actually works.

Sites, areas and equipment

Organise controls and verifications by site, work area, equipment and responsible person.

Plant-floor records

Operators complete controls and report incidents from a phone or tablet, with photographic evidence and synchronised information.

Incidents and corrective actions

Link each deviation to its source control, document the response and track it through to closure.

Profiles and approval workflows

Define who records, reviews and approves information according to each person’s role in the process.

Monitoring, history and reports

Review record status in real time, examine trends and generate reports with traceability for every action.

Worker assignment

Assign operators to centres, zones and specific controls, and log who closes each incident.

Email alerts

Set up automatic emails for incidents or controls that require them.

How it works

How HIGEA works

1

Set up your PNCH

Define work centres, zones, equipment and pre-operational, operational and cleaning/disinfection controls to match how your plant actually runs.

2

Record from the floor

The team completes controls from their phone or tablet and logs incidents with photo evidence on the spot.

3

Review and close

Quality reviews the records, manages corrective actions and closes each incident while keeping the whole process traceable.

4

Report and export

Check the status of the PNCH in real time and export a full CSV or PDF dump whenever you need to present evidence.

Requirements

What you need to use it

An internet connection at the plant to record and sync information in real time.

A phone or tablet for the operators who log controls and incidents from the floor.

A web browser for the Quality team that reviews, validates and generates reports.

Security and data

How we protect your data

Each person logs in with their own account and permissions based on their role (operations, Quality, administration or audit), and HIGEA keeps the authorship and timestamp of every record. Data handling follows GDPR requirements.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about HIGEA

If you have a question you don't see here, write to us and we'll reply as soon as possible.

What is a Standardised Hygiene Control Programme (PNCH)?

It is the set of documented procedures a food business applies to prevent direct product contamination before and during operations. It defines what must be controlled, how it is done, who is responsible and how reviews are recorded.

Which PNCH processes can be managed with HIGEA?

HIGEA can manage pre-operational and operational procedures, cleaning and disinfection controls, verifications, incidents, corrective actions, approvals and their documentary history.

What type of company is HIGEA designed for?

It is designed for food industry companies that need to organise hygiene controls, coordinate multiple sites or work areas and maintain traceable evidence for reviews and audits.

How are incidents and corrective actions managed?

Each incident is linked to the control that originated it. Corrective actions can then be documented, tracked and approved through to closure while maintaining end-to-end traceability.

Can we see who completed and approved each record?

Yes. HIGEA retains the author and time of each record and supports approval workflows based on the profiles involved in the process, such as operations, Quality, administration or auditing.

Is internet connection needed at the plant?

Yes. HIGEA needs an internet connection to record and synchronise information in real time.

How long does it take to deploy?

Implementation time depends on the current structure and processes of each company, but is usually completed between 4 and 6 weeks. It includes the analysis of current PNCH, staff training and subsequent care and monitoring.

Is it compatible with the Kit Digital grant?

It was while Kit Digital was active: as an official digitalisation agent, we managed grant applications for eligible projects. The last application windows closed on 31 October 2025.

What happens to our data if we decide to stop using it?

The data is yours. We export a full dump in standard format (CSV / PDF) with no penalties or lock-in clauses.

How are controls loaded?

Controls can be configured directly on the platform from a computer or, if you prefer, we can take care of the initial setup and configuration for an additional fee.

What can be configured?

HIGEA adapts to each company’s structure and operations. Sites, areas, equipment, controls, incidents, corrective actions and other elements needed to monitor the PNCH can be configured.

Which companies must implement the PNCH?

Food companies exporting to third countries, and any establishment required to develop, apply and maintain a PNCH under the relevant authorisation requirements.

What requirements does the PNCH set?

The PNCH sets four requirements: application and monitoring, corrective actions, maintenance and records, with pre-operational (before operations) and operational (during operations) procedures.
